Dave Kinsey - Identity redesign
Michael Schmidt - Back-end designer, icon illustrator
Token Nygaard - Back-end designer, icon illustrator
Niko Stumpo - Official "Goodies" designer
Arlo Jamrog - Flash developer

Case StudyMike Buzzard and I were in my office working tirelessly on the 2nd Annual Monson Snowboard Design Contest and listening to Bad Religion's Generator when an email came across from Epitaph's owner and BR guitarist Brett Gurewitz. He expressed an interest in a redesign of Epitaph.com - not just a redesign, but a full overhaul of his entire web presence, head to toe.

Our first order of business on this project was to create the team we wanted. Mike pulled in Michael Schmidt and Token Nygaard of K10K fame for designing an interface for his custom backend system (complete with multiple CSS skins). Also, Jessey White-Cinis, Epitaph's CodeMonkey at the time, worked side-by-side with Mike from start to finish. Jessey was an indispensable part of the team. On the design end, I called up my friend Thomas Brodahl to work with me on presenting the creative directions and initial layouts.

As Mike and Michael built the structure and layout of the new backend, Thomas and I worked on different directions to present to Brett. After choosing a direction, we worked very closely with Brett on each and every piece of the design of the site. As I built the front-end framework and features for the site, Thomas continued cranking out the amazing header illustrations that dominate the top portion of each section on Epitaph.com.

The end result is a site that was completely administered by Epitaph's WebMonkey, Matt Heinemeyer, and was filled with daily content changes and interaction. Brett continued to make changes and upgrades to the site, adding sections and deleting them based on fan and user requests.

The resulting site was one honed-down, kick-ass punk machine!

It's always nice when a restaurant you frequent ends up becoming your client, especially when the restaurant has the same level of dedication to atmosphere and culture as Sharkeez Restaurants. These Southern California beach city night-life staples are all hand decorated with tons of South-of-the-Border epherma and the menu is packed with Tex-Mex favorites and Baja specialties like seafood burritos, fish tacos and the like.

It was clear that the site(s) needed to reflect this atmosphere, and the only way to truly accomplish the task was to get in and photograph all of the locations, taking special care to get as many photos as possible of all the various odd collectibles, paintings, sombreros, Dia de los Muertos skeletons, etc.

The end result is a site we were all very proud of. It properly reflects the feeling you get hanging out in a Sharkeez restaurant, whether you're there for burritos and a beer or dancing the night away.

AxiaSnowboards.com was the newest venture for Monson Snowboards owner and longtime friend, Ryan Monson. After a very successful season on the slopes, but not on the web, they turned to Go Farm to kick some life into their design and marketing efforts.

The Axia crew was looking for something different, something to help set them apart from the slew of competing snowboard companies. Team Pro Tommy Czeschin wanted an aesthetic that he could own and embody, and given his humble, dedicated, and hardworking ethics we decided on a less-polished look and feel that feels more DIY and grassroots.

Case Study
In November of 2004, I was approached by the VP of marketing for West Coast Choppers, and immediately broke ground on what would end up being a long and great relationship. Roughly 75% of my work from January 2005 until January of 2007 originated from WCC's Long Beach, CA headquarters.

This is the flagship. The design for WestCoastChoppers.com defined the tone for the next 2 years of work, and helped set the stage and creative language for their family of sites. Dark, modular, and filled with grit, WestCoastChoppers.com was a great and fun project.

This iteration of WestCoastChoppers.com was retired and taken offline in April of 2008 after three years.
