Welcome to the online portfolio of interactive designer and creative director, Greg Huntoon. An anthropologist and writer by education, Greg converted a lifelong passion and enthusiasm for architecture and technology into a successful career as a designer and art director that spans 12+ years. He is particularly focused on user experience, navigation, branding and the social contexts of design. Incredibly interested in the cultural and communal aspects of media, Greg is always watching how new technologies are shaping our world and its future.
Greg graduated from the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies at the University of Redlands in 1997, where he was introduced to digital design as the Editor-in-Chief of the school's weekly newspaper. He also completed intensive fieldwork studies in Zanzibar, Tanzania with The School for International Training, and Kiswahili and Sustainable Development graduate courses at UCLA (before taking a leave of absence to join Media Temple as their Creative Director in April of 2000).
Greg has taught and lectured on web design and social media, and is committed to educating and mentoring aspiring designers and those interested in interactive marketing. In addition, he is active in his role on the Interactive Committee of AIGA LA, and has been an editor for Surfstation since 2002.
